Day 102 Tuesday 17.iv.2018

Very cold night. The caravan gets wretchedly damp and cold first thing. Jolly nice to have the heater working. Be good to get the fridge going, not on gas. Put it on for a bit now - UHT milk I bought last Tuesday is starting to leave the planet. Check out caravan electrics / solar panel input on U-tronics - best way to incorporate a 240v inverter into the system.

I want to do a solid piece of work today - Andrew's accounts, or the Hunting Lodge ceiling / beams, or the altar rail, not piss about. Somehow not tempted by the fire safety procedures, which is possibly more important. Just my luck if the place burnt down on my watch.

Routine rules (only takes a week). Alarm at 6.30, dark and cold and damp. Tea and juice and a fag, heater on, warm and snug. Sun's coming up as I walk down to the loo and meditation - lovely warm orange and red eastern horizon - it's going to be a fine day. Meditation the usual busy to do list punctuated by occasional attention to my breathing. No emails. Back for porridge and coffee and washing up. All systems go - fridge, coffee water, porridge, heater. Point the solar panel at the rising sun - 16 v and all lights flashing slowly green. France Musique tinkling (a bit of news about the UK and Syria, Corbyn and May mentioned, not sure what's happening).

Do some Babbel this morning. Old UHT gone rather unpleasant on my porridge, sour and separated.

Shorts on. Washing up done. Routine is good if there is . . . enough time for tea and fag and loo. Meditation. Breakfast, dress, washing up. Morning meeting. Work . . . enough time to do each comfortably, not so much or so open ended that I end up pissing away the morning (or arseing about in Super-U last night - I should have just left it, or gone earlier.) And compulsory getting together with everyone is good too - meditation, meetings, meal times.

The effect of the environment on us, our effect on the environment. And the environment is other people, not just stuff, and structures. We need to think how our environment is fucking with us, and what we can do to change it, or ourselves.

A good day. Worked on the Hunting Lodge / Hermitage (rotten beams and ceiling) then came back to do the accounts with Andrew, meditation, lunch, more accounts, lodge work, cooked supper, med, everyone ate it and said it was very tasty including Joel, our French visitor, then a fag with Suzanne and a long heart to heart with Andrew, and a nice call from Pol. And so to bed.

Comments

  1. Good routine. Glad about the solar panels working. I won a bracelet from Belle for a silly 3-word competition- today’s my day 44 and 4 is my lucky number! You got well through your 100.
