Day 20 Thursday 25.i.2018

Assembled drain pipes and filled in drains with Jean Christophe. Removed all the spoil with the digger and the tractor. Clay like glue and full of limestone cobbles. Hung all my clothes up to dry in front of the kitchen stove. Andrew gave J-C a well deserved whisky with his eleven o'clock coffee.

Andrew, Delith and I drove to Poitiers to Costorama. Bought worktop, jigsaw, and collected the shower cabinet. J-C and I dug a drainage channel in front of the Edspace, which was turning in to a piscine. Got very wet and muddy. Rained all day. Talked / listened a lot with Jean Christophe. He has five children and his copine has three.

We finished work at 4, feeling very pleased with ourselves. Time enough for a cup of tea and a wash before meditation. Delith and Andrew inspected the new car (a Berlingo) and came back happy. We should have it on Tuesday.

Saw a wonderful fox on the way to Poitiers, which crossed the road in front of the car - very big, although not as red and handsome as an English fox.
